The Master Data Model Builder is a tool to extend the standard DCM Case Model. For every Case Type, it creates a one-to-one Extension business object (where you can add custom attributes) and enables the administrator to add one-to-many business objects. When a Case is created, it will automatically create a record in the Extension business object (and any subsequent business objects) if the attached form has data for them.

  1. Navigate to Master Data Management > Data Models and clicking on AUTO_LOAN or select Control > Open.

  2. This will open the Data Model Builder at the Data Model Editor tab ready for development.
The data model editor enables the administrator to use the graphical design tool to quickly abstract a data model for the solution. In addition to the primary business object created for the data model, it is possible to define and abstract other business objects that can be related in one-to-many relationships.
  3. Select Auto Loan business object (green). In the properties pane on the right side, add the following Attributes:
    1. Customer Name - Text
    2. Employer - Text
    3. Loan Amount - Number
    4. Annual Income - Number
    5. Credit Score - Integer
    6. FICO - Integer
  4. Save the changes to the model (it could take 1 minute). Your model must look like the image below.

Editing the MDM Forms

The DCM offers an intuitive, drag and drops style form builder to develop pages that will hold custom fields. Currently, there are two types of Form Builder available:

Form Builder - our first release of the Form Builder prepares single 'stand-alone' forms that can contain data fields (e., text, date, number, etc.) but where the definition and values are held in an XML format and disconnected from any underlying data tables.

MDM Form Builder - our latest generation of Form Builder allows for the abstraction of a multi-tier data model as well as forms and search pages to accompany each one. The MDM Form Builder is a tool to customize the forms used in DCM, it recognizes the Attributes inserted in the previous steps and automatically created them as fields in the form.

  1. Click on the Open Form Builder button and select Auto Loan, it will open the Form Builder in a new window.
  2. Click on Auto Loan info (1) and change the Title to ‘Auto Loan Application’ (2), in Title align select ‘Center’, and in the Theme properties select ‘Red’. Your form will look like the following:
  3. Click on the Credit Score field (1) and type ‘Enter your estimated Credit Score’ for Empty Text (2).
  4. Set the Max Width to 350 px (3).
  5. Set the range of valid values for this field to Min Value = 0 and Max Value = 850 (4).
  6. Save your changes.
  7. Click on the FICO field (1) and set the Max Width to 300 px (2).
  8. Check ‘Is Read Only’ (3)
We are going to populate this field later using a function (see next image for steps).
  9. Uncheck the fields ‘Use on Create’ and ‘Use on Update’ (4)
These changes mean that the field will not be shown during the Creation or Update of the case.
  10. Save your changes.
  11. Click the Preview button and check what the form will look like. Validate that when Display Context is set to Create or Update (1) the FICO field is not shown (2).
  12. Close the Preview
  13. Save and close the Form Builder.
