Deploying a DCM Solution

This article describes the two options to deploy solutions: Advanced Deployment and Deploy. If deploying a new imported DCM GA solution for the first time, you must do an Advanced Deployment. If you are deploying updates to the DCM GA solution, like new Business Objects, new Case Types, or modifications, use the Deploy option.

Advanced Deployment

  1. Click on the Launch AppStudio icon next to your solution in the solutions list.
  2. Navigate to Deployment Management → Advanced Deployment.
  3. Advanced Deployment is a process of three steps: Preview (1), Execute SQL (2) and Confirm (3).
You need to wait for every step to finish before moving to the next step. Later we will use just Deploy, a simplified deployment task.
  4. Click on Preview button and wait until you have a message like “Build was successful. Now you can deploy the solution or download the SQL Queries and deploy manually. Spent time: 00:04:10”.
This first step could take 3-8 mins.
  5. Click on the Execute SQL button to start the next step in the process. Wait until you have the message: Deployment was successful. Spent time: 00:00:10.
This step is shorter, and it could take 1-5 mins.
  6. Click on the Confirm button to start the last step in the process. Wait until you have a message like “Confirmed. Spent time: 00:00:10”.
This last step is usually the shortest and takes about 10 seconds.

  7. Close the tab.

Deploy

  1. Navigate to Deployment Management → Deploy. Deploy is a simplified process of deployment with just two steps: Preview (1) and Apply Changes (2).
You must wait for every step to finish before moving to the next step.
  2. Click the Preview button and wait until you have a message like “Build was successful. Now you can either deploy the solution or discard the changes..." This first step could take 3-8 mins.
  3. Click the Apply Changes button to start the last step in the process. Wait until you have a message like Deployment has been completed and the runtime version has been synchronized (confirmed)”.This last step is usually the shortest and takes about 20-30 seconds.

  4. Close the tab.
