Overview
Dashboards are particularly useful for managers who need to view a wide range of data from different reports. Using dashboards eliminates the need to open a large number of reports individually.
When viewing standard or custom reports, you generally open reports one at a time and search for data in only the active report. However, you can view and search for data in several reports simultaneously by adding them to a dashboard.
Dashboard Widgets
A Widget is an element of a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays information or provides a specific way for a user to interact with the operating system or an application. Typically these are shown on Dashboards and can be a link to an external source, a Coded page or another type of source code.
Reports
Reports are contained in folders in the Report Viewer. These folders are in a tree structure and can be expanded or collapsed to hide or display their contents.
An example of a report you can run from the Report Viewer component is the Case Inventory report.
